Am Joel and on Saturday night i scratched my housemates car

Customer Question

Good morning, am Joel and on Saturday night i scratched my housemates car with my my car as i was reversing.
We went and reported to the police and they said we solve it by ourselves, before that we had gone to a mechanic certified by RAA and given a quote.
I was in the process of getting an insurance cause my previous car insuarance had run out,so the car involved in this matter its not under any insurance as per that night of the collusion.
What advice would you give me on this matter

Hello

You are obliged to pay for the repairs if there is no insurance and you are at fault.

You are not obliged to pay for a hire car.

If he was insured, the insurance company would simply chase you for the damage to the vehicle.

It is that simple.

I wish to help you in this situation.
