I am in Australia, Queensland. I signed the contract

Customer Question

Hi I am in Australia, Queensland.
I signed the contract for the purchase of a property and cancelled within 24 hours - within the 5 day cooling off period.
The Real-estate agent wants to charge .25% of the deposit. Do I still have to pay this amount considering that I never paid the deposit in the first place to confirm purchase of the property?

Sadly that payment will need to be made.
UNLESS there was some agreement otherwise.
Generally, that deposit is unrefundable, payable or not.

It is strange however that they never got you to pay for this amount upon signing?
