Customer Question

I am an Australian citizen requiring a visa waiver shortly to the USA. I had a small drug conviction in 1986 for possession of a prescribed substance and fined $200.00 in the magistrates court. this is the only conviction I have and wonder how it will affect my application . Cheers ***** *****

Good Afternoon

My name is ***** ***** I am a NSW Solicitor. Thank you for your question, and will do my best to assist you with your question. Please understand this is not legal advise Please understand this is not legal advice but a guide to assist you.

You cannot apply for the Visa Waiver program because you have the conviction. You have to make an application with the American Embassy to get a visa.

If you disclose it you will get a visa but the Waiver is not available.
