It could be a material breach of the lease, and if so... if it is not fixed urgently, you will need to put your complaint in writing.. as a notice to remedy breach... once I know where you are located, I will be able to confirm the position, and advise the forms, and timeframes involved.

I have just rented a house from the 1/1/20. When I saw the
when I saw the house for the first time the house had been trashed by the previous tenants ( I lived 300kms away at the time) since I saw the house I have been diagnosed with cancer and have bee undergoing treatment as I know the owners father they were willing to wait for me to move in and told me they would put a short term tenant in which they didn't manage to do I was told it was being renovated they painted cleaned up the house not sure if they replaced the carpet and one of the owners told me that a new air conditioner was being put in then explained that it would be put through a real estate agent I therefore signed a 12 month lease since moving in the old air conditioner has died the clothes line that was broken eventually got replaced the painting is not up to standard as ther are spots on the wall that have been missed which I can fix as the paint was left the stove isn't working properly the oven is so small I can't get my largest tray in there I have bought a new stove and oven which I have said I will put in but there may need to be a slight alteration for the oven which I have said that I will have done at my expense and to top it off the fuse in the meter box burnt out and the pipe under the sink in the bathroom burst and the real estate lady was going to leave me all night with no power to the kitchen (also maybe a fire hazard) and no water in the house until someone could come out and fix it in the morning she eventually sent someone to isolate the fuse and a plumber rang and walked me through how to get water on (cold only) as I said I am undergoing chemo and due to the temperatures we have had it has been unbearable living in the house due to no air conditioner I also have 4 grandchildren that live with me ages 10 to 18 also I have just messaged the real estate this morning to tell them the back sliding door needs new wheels as it is too hard to open and close but have not heard back from her I want to know if I have a legal reason to break the lease as my health is suffering … read more
