I hope you can point me in the right direction. I'm an Airbnb host and a guest from Canada cancelled his reservation last week. Under my cancellation policy he was eligible for a 50% refund. He wanted a 100% refund as due to Coronavirus he'd had to cancel and said these were exceptional circumstances. I contacted Airbnb and they advised me that his circumstances weren't extenuating, so it was at my discretion whether I wanted to issue a full refund. I told him I was sorry, but I couldn't issue a full refund as his circumstances weren't deemed as being extenuating by Airbnb. I suggested that maybe his insurance company could help. I then started to receive threatening messages from him saying if I didn't issue a 100refund, he would be forced to tell everybody about me in social media.
