I have clients in the fishing industry, they pay their
I have clients in the fishing industry, they pay their skippers based on a % of the catch. These skippers can earn between $150K - $350K per year gross. The client pays their gross based upon this % of the Back to Boat Sales result (catch) and pays superannuation (SGC) on same, they take out & lodge STP the relevant PAYGW. It was suggested by another professional firm that they should also incur Annual Leave... I can't see how this could be calculated as these skippers are more like casuals, in that they take a trip on or off when suits them, when they tie up on the wharf they go home for that period of time, when they are at sea they could be fishing or resting or sailing. can you please give me some guidance as to whether or not they are entitled to Annual Leave and if so how it would be calculated? Also some proof in black & white so that I can explain to my client. … read more
