VerifiedMy girlfriend has applied for remaining relative visa but is on a bridging visa ATM , we've just recently discovered that she is pregnant and we want to keep the baby, how dos this affect the visa?
It doesn't affect her visa status at all. Not even when the child is born will it affect her visa status. But if the father is an Australian citizen, then the child will be an Australian citizen even thought the mother isn't.
Often I get asked by a women who have become pregnant to Australian men whether that will give them an edge or help them to obtain a visa for Australia. Unfortunately the answer is no. Pregnancy has no effect on a person's visa status.
