Verified Now if i was to be arrested in WA for another (NEW) offence either similar or not; would i be apprehended & tried in WA for the current outstanding warrants in QLD ? OR Potentially be extradited back to QLD to be tried for outstanding warrants?
If it is only a Queensland wide warrant, they cannot arrest you in WA over that. However, if they arrest you in WA because you committed offences there, then often what they do is extradite the person back to the state where there is a warrant for them.
I have seen them do this happen before. A young man had a state wide warrant out for his arrest in Victoria. In Brisbane he was arrested for assault outside a pub. Instead of proceeding with the assault charge, the police prosecutor asked the Magistrate for permission to send him to Victoria where he could face the more serious charges he was wanted for there, and the Magistrate agreed.
