If your husband has bought the house as a tenant in common with another relation and the other person has provided 50% or another proportion of the property's deposit or value, then you will only be able to treat the proportion of your husband's share as part of the pool of assets of your marriage. Certainly, you will not be entitled in those circumstances if half of the property, or some other proportion is actually owned by the other relation. But it doesn't mean that your amount is reduced, because really the assets that the other relation would have contributed to buy the house would not have been yours anyway. Then the Court will work out what kinds of contributions you both made to the marriage before dividing up the asset pool.
