In NSW, you cannot drop the charges if you ask to do so.
The NSW police need to act on such matters, regardless of your actions or requests.
All you can do is attend court, speak to the Magistrate and ask that the matter be dropped and ask him or her to drop the matter.
Under no circumstances can the police not drop the charges in NSW, ever.
All you can do is speak with the court when it is set down for hearing.
