Thank you for your question. To Introduce myself I am a sydney based Solicitor and will do my best to provide you with relevant information to assist you.
Saying things to her unfortunately is not defamation but spreading lies about her to others is.
By calling and harassing and intimidating her is not permitted and she can take out an AVO against them.
You have to take out a private one if the police will not take action. The police will only get involved if there is the possibility of violence.
You can attend at the Magistrates Court/Local Court and they will assist you in getting a private one.
If they are spreading lies about her then there is also an action for defamation but you will have to get a Solicitor to write to them.
The Law Society of the ACT will give you a referral.
