I am sorry to hear about this situation. Can you please tell me has she had any similar charges against her before?
Does your daughter recall what happened and does she accept that she caused the bruising? Was she acting in self defence?
Has she given a statement to the Police and what did she tell them? Did she admit doing what she is accused of?
Good Evening
If your daughter is wanting to claim self defence then she should not plead guilty. Was the other girl taken to hospital?
If your daughter is going to challenge the facts she should plead not guilty and have a hearing and the friend that was present should give evidence.
To commit assault your daughter must have wanted to hurt the other girl.
She should get a Solicitor to assist. If the Police are prepared to change the facts to represent what your daughter says happened then she can decide to plead guilty and seek to have the court show leniency.
It is not a simple case. The solicitor will be able to assist her to get the best response.
She should not plead guilty if she is not and the facts are not correct.
