Hi Alex, here is the actual statement to put things into context. Plse advice.

Re: Incident at S.S. December 29^th 2012.

At approximately 17:30 hrs this evening, we were preparing to leave the house for a Take-away. ? was already seated in the driver’s seat whilst the client was made secure in the rear left passenger seat as per Transport procedure.

I suggested to ? that I drive on this occasion: given clients un-predictable behaviour of late. ? ignored my concern and said “no, you can sit there”, pointing to the front passenger seat.

I then informed ? of the correct Protocol for passenger transport. That a staff member must remain in the back passenger seat behind the driver.

? demanded that he saw this. ? and I (x) secured client back to the house and I went to the office to retrieve the Protocols. Whilst looking for the document ? entered the office with the same attitude and tone as previous incident dated 20^th December 2012, followed shortly by client and was now in the office displaying anti-social behaviour shouting ‘I WANT MY f**kING TAKE AWAY YOU c**t”.

I asked ? if he could please wait with client outside the office as to defuse the tention. ? stated “he stops there”, meaning by the door. ? and client remained in the office area. I suggested that I closed the office door for a moment. I proceeded to closed it when ? held the door open and said “its stopping open”.

Meanwhile there is continued verbal abuse towards at me whilst ? ignores client anti-social behaviour thus giving rise to more esculating behaviours: client kicking doors and shouting obscenities. ? still continuing not to address client behaviours I then left the office with the files to the cage area then I locked the door as per procedure. ? then unlocked the door and followed me out to the cage area along with client, still verbally attacking me. ? then left the caged area and went back inside the house, leaving the client with me in the caged area. client settled down slightly and sat sat down on the otherside of the table. I then went back in to the house locking the door behind me leaving the client secured within the cage. I then returned to the office with the Transport Protocols and Highlighted the procedure with a pen and handed the document to ?.

Meanwhile, client was kicking the windows/ doors, and continuing to shout obscenities. Neighbours would have heard this.

I then left the office and proceeded through the lounge area to exit. I unlocked the door to exit the house and client blocked my way through. I moved to the left of him and to the right to avoid any physical contact. ? then said to client “let him pass”, client then moved out of the way of my path, I then passed and exited the house to my care leaving ? and client in the house, locking the gate behind me as procedure.

I then made several calls to my T/ Leader- ?, Line Manager - ? to advise on the situation. Txt messages were sent to these phones highlighting the situation and awaiting instructions.

At this point I felt vulnerable and at risk. I was fearful of false allegations by either staff or client.?, inability to address the situation and follow the Clients behaviour management plan.

I was contacted by T/L who informed me that a colleague was on their way. I did not want to go back to the house and decided to remain in my care until staff arrived.

Whilst waiting in my car at the top of the drive I met my colleague at the gate. I then left the property.

Hi Alex, in relation to my workplace dilema and follow up question's. is there any avenue for me to address that I was put at risk due to my colleagues failure to address clients behaviour: therefor putting me at risk?
