What she needs to do if you both think that Centrelink has made the wrong decision in cutting off her single mother's pension is appeal without delay. The first step would be to appeal directly to an Authorised Review Officer (ARO).
It is best to lodge an ARO appeal in writing by writing a letter. Be sure to keep a copy for your own records, then post or lodge your appeal in person at your local Centrelink office.
The ARO will review your completed form, and then send you a letter outlining the reasons for their decision. Centrelink has forms which require information about the reasons for asking for the review by an ARO.
If she is still not happy with the ARO decision, she can appeal to the Social Security Appeals Tribunal (SSAT). She will need a lawyer to assist her in making such an appeal to the SSAT.
