And I might work 500 kms from my home. Which is what the contract stipulates.

I Shawn Flynn, the undersigned, (herein called contractor), do hereby acknowledge that during the time that I am a contractor, I will be expose to, be in possession of, or have access to proprietary information concerning the direct sale of fire protection products, discount programs, selling skills, production, client list, Methods of Operation Databases and other Information pertaining to the Business. I understand that this information is not to be divulged or discussed with outside sources whilst under contract to Community Safe T/A Business Marketing PTY LTD.

I also acknowledge and agree that, upon termination of service to Community Safe T/A Business Marketing PTY LTD, I will not retain, consult or use any client lists, contacts or information relating to Community Safe T/A Business Marketing PTY LTD in relation to employment elsewhere.

Exception is if I am a representative for a wholesale company or another company involved in direct sales.

So with the top section of the contract it sounds like it is saying I will not be able to use the information I was using when I worked for Community Safe. Is that right?

My question is can I start up my own company. And if I do so can I use the same wholesaler as Community Safe and if I can start up my own company do I have to do it 500 KMs from where I live? Can I start it up in Townsville or Sydney for example?

Also, to answer your question. I spoke to the wholesaler and he said Craig (owner of Community Safe) is no longer doing it. However, he could return to buying extinguishers of him. He is joining a MLM business an I guess if that back fires then he could go back to selling fire extinguishers. And his website is still up and operatinig - http://www.communitysafe.net.au/

My plan is to get the gear from the same wholesaler and travel up north 500 km's from where I live. I would like to do this next week. I will have to work with my own business name and ABN. As I have spoken to the wholesaler about working as a rep for his business and he said no, because it would create competition with his clients
