1. POSITION DETAILS

1.1 Purpose of position

This position is seen as critical to the effective and efficient functioning of this office by providing a finance support service. This will include being responsible for ensuring that appropriate systems and processes are in place to meet the needs of staff and clients. This position will assist in all aspects of finance control for the organisation.

•1.2 Primary duties and responsibilities

• o Assist in preparing, recording, compiling and distributing program budgets to Management Committee members, RAATSICC staff and relevant Departmental staff as required.
• o Assist in obtaining quotes and purchasing necessary items as required.
• o Assist in recommending new or revised processes and practices to maintain a high level financial service to fellow staff members and RAATSICC members alike.
• o Assist in the day-to-day management of the organisations finances including: cheques and payment vouchers, preparation of wages, super, tax, expenses, customer payments, invoicing, electronic banking, online direct debits, petty cash, controlling debtors and creditors ledgers and general credit control.
• o Proficiency with the use of MYOB accounting systems.
• o Assist in the preparation of financial reports including payroll, super, tax, profit & loss statements, project costings and payment summaries.
• o Assist in the maintenance of the organisation's asset register.
• o Responsibility for bank reconciliations, end of month accounting activities and quarterly departmental reporting.
• o Assist on the liaison with the organisations accountant to ensure internal quality control and assist with preparation of annual financial audit, where necessary.

2. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The position is covered by the Qld Community Services & Crisis Assistance Award 2008 (hereafter ‘QCSACA Award'). A copy of the Award is available from the Chief Executive Officer, RAATSICC.

3. CODE OF ETHICS

Cape York/Gulf RAATSICC Advisory Association Inc has adopted a ‘Code of Ethics' applicable to all staff and members.

Each employee is required to sign the attached ‘Code of Ethics' document.

4. LEAVE PROVISIONS

Applications for leave should be lodged with the employee's supervisor. Applications for leave involving Annual Leave, Leave Without Pay, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ceremonial Leave, Long Service Leave, Conference, Training and Study Leave, and Parental Leave, must be made in advance on the prescribed form: Application for Leave.

5. PROBATION PERIOD

A probationary period shall apply; commencing the Monday 9^th May, 2011 to Friday 12^th August, 2011. Three Performance Assessments will occur during this period. The first assessment will be no later than Friday 10^th June, 2011, the second, no later than Friday 15^th July, 2011 and the final assessment no later than Friday 12^th August, 2011.

It should be noted that this Probation Period may be extended beyond this time if necessary.

6. WAGE PAYMENTS

Wages are paid fortnightly by electronic transfer to a bank account on Wednesday. A salary advice slip is provided to each employee for each fortnightly pay on the day of banking.

7. WAGE REVIEWS

Subject to Clause 29: Progression Between Levels, wage rates will be reviewed by the Management Committee. Any applications by an employee for an alteration to wage rates should be submitted to the Director of Services in the first instance. Such applications will be calculated on the basis of available funds, movements in the SACS Award, and may include a productivity component which must be negotiated separately.

8. PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT

In accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures, all employees are required to participate in a regular performance appraisal. The Cape York/Gulf RAATSICC Policy and Procedures Manual contains further information concerning the process of performance appraisal.

9. GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES

It is the policy of RAATSICC that a grievance procedure should be available to all staff. While informal means of conflict resolution are preferred, it is recognised that these means are not always successful or appropriate.

The following provisions of the CSACA Award are applicable:

10. NOTICE PROVISIONS

11. TRAVELLING EXPENSES AND MOTOR VEHICLE ALLOWANCES

When employees are required to travel in the course of their employment, and to stay away-from-base overnight, the following provisions of the CSACA Award shall apply:

12. SUPERANNUATION

The Cape York/Gulf RAATSICC Advisory Association Inc. makes contributions to Sunsuper superannuation fund, on behalf of all staff. If you have another fund, we will be happy to accommodate you.

13. AGREEMENT
