On the 25th January,2011 my 29 year old daughter rang me screaming she had been assulted by her then partner. After calming her down she proceeded to explain what had happened . They had gone to the crowsnest hotel in sydney for the evening with her flatmate, and her flatmates brother, my daughter who was approx 15 weeks pregnant decided to leave early, as she was annoyed with the drinking her partner was doing, as he was on a good behaviour bond, for drink driving, she walked by herself home, Her parner arrived home with her flatmate and her flatmates brother, all drunk, she went into her room after yelling at him for his drinking, he became enraged and followed her into her bedroom, where he attacked her holding her down with his knee in her adomine, and bitting her cheek so badly she had a black swollen eye , He left in his car, leaving her hysterical, she rang Royal North Shore hospital, concerned about the kneeing to her abdomine, and the baby . they reported the incident, and told her to come in, Her flatmate who was drunk, told her she was fine, and if she hadnt yelled at him this would not have happened, she wanted to call the police, this again was boo hooed, by her flatmate, and told if she caused much more problems, she would get rid of her out of the flat, my daughter became intimidated, frightened, as she was by herself and frightened, I told her over the phone to calm down, she settled. The next morning she rang from Royal North Shore hospital,her flatmate had become alarmed in the morning upon seeing the extent of my daughters injuries, she reported the assult, and spoke, to a counsellor who advised it was her duty to report it to the authorities, even if my daughter , didnt want to take it further, as her partner, was ringing apologising, she was worried about the baby, and asked for a scan to see if the baby was alright. When she arrived home, her partner was out cold on her bed, he didnt wake untill late that afternoon,and told her he had awaken that day in a stairwell, and could not find his car or keys, he , reported the car and keys missing to the police, his car was found, locked but the keys still missing, these were finally found days later, at the crows nest hotel, where, he had apparently gone back to but had no recollection. On another incident he also assulted my daughter whilst out, he explained he had botox, and she giggled, he got upset, and twisted her arm and pushed her back against a wall, he also coersed my daughter, into having the baby aborted, he became obsessive in his drive to get her out of his life, and not be burdened by this child, my daughter, suffers from a very fragile self esteem, due to a childhood sexual assult, and beleived him when he told her that they would have another child when they were financially ok and the circumstances had changed, he did not want to disappoint his parents,as they were from an affluent family and, she did not fit the mould, the verbal abuse was unbeleivable, and only just now we are being told of the extent. My daughter was taken to an abortion clinic, where her partner paid on his credit card, over the next few weeks the relationship became, hostile on both sides, her regrets, and his abusive, put downs about her personally and looks. They decided to have a break , when she rang him for support, as she was not able to cope with the abortion, he told her, the only reason he had been with her was she had an easy look abouceit her, and she should do her self and everybody a favour and kill herself, I received messages from her, that, she was a looser and her life was finished . Over the next few she rang lifeline and spoke to counsellors, and then decided to report the incident to the police, and also take out an avo against him, she went to court last wednesday no legal , nothing, the domestic violence officer, from North Sydney Police station explained they hadnt been able to serve him as each time they had arrived at his parents home, he wasnt home , my daughter has to go to court again next wednesday, still dosent know if he has been served, is absolutly scared out of her mind, as when this 34 year old ex partner of hers was charged years ago on a drink driving charge his parents, hired a QC and he was put on home detention, and had to undergo 6 weeks in a private hospital. I have tried to ring to get her some legal help, only told police prosecutor, and domestic violence officer, are her only avenues, as she is currently unemployed hairdresser, who also threw in a beauty course she was undertaking, this year, as she was under to much pressure, We have offered help in a private hospital, to deal with issues with past,and present as I am worried to what will in court, if he has a QC represent him, and she
