You can try and prepare the application yourself. You can approach the Supreme Court of Victoria and they will be able to advise you what forms you need to complete.
In terms of cost a Solicitor has to disclose what they will charge and an estimate before they commence. I cannot tell you how much as each solicitor charges differently.
