Hi Alex, thank you for your help before, I have another issue I have been trying to process amicably but to no successful outcome. I purchase a brand new motor vehicle last October collected it one week later with extra fittings and protective treatments applied to the vehicle before it went on the road. One of the extras paid for in the purchase was rustproofing. In April of this year I first noticed and reported rust appearing at the fuel cap area seam to the service department at the dealer I purchased it from they would get in touch with the manufacturer, I again contacted them at my next service about the rust as it was becoming more evident and had appeared in a couple of other areas. I was taken to a panel beater who is doing the warranty work who along with the service rep from the dealer said it was a manufacturing fault with the treatment of the edging , welding and seaming processing. the rust being there in manufacture. It is now this week the year anniversary and the manufacturer has only answered a month ago with we do not replace under warranty over the phone. I have written to both the manager of the dealership and the manufacturer requesting a refund or replacement of the faulty vehicle as I have taken the car to both private panel beaters and rust proofers who will not warranty the work on the vehicle as there is existing rust from a manufacturing fault on all the seams joins and edges of metal over the vehicle. thus repairing the vehicle is not a satisfactory option of which the manufacturer is wanting me to accept there attempt to cover the problems, the dealer also contacted me last week offering a trade in to my cost as the car is now a year old with mileage. I stated that the vehicle was only 5 months old when I first reported the rust it was not my fault that it has taken them that long to attend to the issue. I have a very graphic collection of photographs that they have all seen, and the vehicle has also been inspected by the RACQ and the bodywork has been defected by them. What is my next constructive step, much reactive advice is to give it to the media, however as a single Mum with 5 children 4 of whom are in tertiary studies years I just want to resolve my motoring issue. I purchased a new car with a full warranty and road assist package for relatively trouble free???? motoring for the next 5 years to help may family and my funds are limited to take my stand with this.
