By commencing proceedings in the Wollongong Magistrates against the car rental company. A lawyer would be required to assist with this unless you are willing to return to Australia on the hearing date, in which case this could be handled in the small claims division of the Court.
Obviously you would need a lawyer to assist with this, but I may be able to recommend a good solicitor who could help. Just let me know if you're interested.
