Verified1. If they are willing to hire you as a contractor - then yes.
2. It wouldn't affect money already paid to you, but you would have to register for GST and apply to the ATO for an ABN number.
3. Yes, that would be preferable - but incorporating a company will set up back around $600 to $800. And you'd still have to do the two things mentioned in paragraph 2.

No it wouldn't affect your redundancy entitlements. You'd be in a very different legal relationship to this company as an independent contract and not an employee. Of course your former employer does not have to do business with you, but they can if they want to.

No it wouldn't affect your redundancy entitlements. You'd be in a very different legal relationship to this company as an independent contract and not an employee. Of course your former employer does not have to do business with you, but they can if they want to.
