VerifiedHelloCustomer Enduring powers of attorney are not registered in Victoria. An enduring power of attorney gives the attorney the right to do anything (other than some limited exceptions) that the principal could legally do. However, it does not give sole right over the persons assets and if they have appointed a third party as a signatory to the bank accounts then as long as the signatory is acting within the authority given then the bank would be entitled to rely upon the fact that the account holder made that person a signatory to the account. If you feel that the signatory has acted in a manner that was outside the scope of their authority to access the bank accounts you should see a local solicitor for detailed advice as this site is for general information only.
