I must tell you that unfortunately you don't have much in the way of options here. The Courts do have the power to make a costs award for an AVO if it is without proper foundation, however, the Courts very rarely exercise that power because if they did it could discourage woman in abusive situations from seeking protection orders. So as a matter of public policy, cost awards are rarely made for AVO's, regardless of whether the AVO application was successful or not.

Likewise, in your family law matter with her, section 117(1) of the Family Law Act 1975 lays down a general principle that each party to proceedings under the Act shall bear their own costs.

So again, you're going to be out of luck in recovery anything from her. My advice, therefore, is to try your best to forget about her and move on.
