Unfortunately not, the warranty period if the warranty period - so if 12 months was offered than 12 months it is.
However, in saying that, when you refer to the problems you are experiencing, if you can show that the problem existed right from the outset - that is for instance - you can show that it was some form of design fault and therefore the caravan was not sold in quality that you had expected, then there are provisions within the Trade Practices Act to assist you which the Dept of Fair Trading / Comsumer Protection in your state could assist with through a formal complaint, but you would need to prove this.

Hi Leon, we purchased a 2nd hand caravan from a dealership in Sydney last January. The reason we bought the caravan was because we had sold our home and kept getting overbid at every home we looked at and therefore had no roof over our head and 2 dogs, making rental impossible. The caravan had 3 months warranty. We were forced to live in the caravan for around 3 weeks. During that time we had torrential rain and wind, we live on the far north coast. The caravan leaked a bit during this time, but as we were novices, new to caravans, we just thought it was because of the extreme weather. We now wish to sell the van, but have now noticed a lot of rain damage since it has not been used for a few months. So we tooka closer look and we can see it has been given a bodgy attempt to conceal the leakages..tape covering prior damage and silicon spread on roof. We did not see these things until a buyer, who had owned many caravans, pointed them out. The damage has gotten worse whilst not being used. Dobwe have any recourse un this matter … read more
