VerifiedUntil your daughter is 18, you and your Husband retain parental responsibility for her, unless there is an order from the Family Court or Federal Magistrates Court stating otherwise.
It sounds like you have taken a very sensible approach to this difficult issue.
The only thing you need to be careful about, is, if you are receiving any sort of centrelink payments for your daughter, you should notify centrelink that she is no longer living with you.
There is not really anything you can do to protect her at this stage.
IF you wanted to try and discuss the matter openly with your daughter and her aunt and uncle you could contact your closest family relationship centre (find it at www.familyrelationships.gov.au ) and they can organise free family dispute resolution.
