Get peace of mind fast when you have Australian legal problems

Australian law is drawn from the nation’s constitution, which divides power between the branches of government and at the federal, state and territory levels. Laws can be legislative or common law, originating from legal precedents established by the courts.

If you're struggling with a question about Australian law, consider asking for legal advice online. Australian law experts are available to assist you at any time, and a JustAnswer session is an affordable alternative to scheduling a visit with a lawyer. You can even ask follow-up questions, and approve payment only when you’re completely satisfied.

QLD. Have discussed with my manager. Have a legal enquiry.
have a legal enquiry.Last month I had my annual review at my work place. My manager evaluated me as a high employee. As part of my review I requested to have my salary increased to align it with the current market value. My manger lodged a request with our HR department. HR did a researched on the market and came back to my manager with a response. When I followed up with my Manager on the status of my request, she informed me that her manager declined my request as 2 senior managers expressed their opinion, in one of their top management meetings, that I would not be a high employee. The reason being that within their department there is a "general opinion I have a short temper". My manager was also part of that meeting. She informed me that there were not asked to provide any evidence for these accusations. Personally I consider this a calumny as I always behaved professionally. Need to mention that I was never informed officially about this complaint and I never had the chance to defend myself.Furthermore, I believe my Manage's manager based her decision on an unproved personal opinion and abused her power. Can you please let me know if my legal rights were respected and what do you recommend me to make things right? Can the 2 managers who manned unproved defamation be charged with defamation or calumny?… read more

  • My ex has said that the money she received from inheritance years ago needs to be returned to her before the distribution of money. Is this correct?
  • My sister-in-law has purchased a unit in Bicton and was informed that strata fees were $450 per quarter. When she moved in, she was given notice that fees were now $900. What can we do?
