Customer Question

Our Electrolux EWF 1074 washing machine is not filing with water. Ran a diagnostic and got error code e54. The hand wash cold program appears to work.
JA: How old is the appliance? Have you gotten error messages before?
Customer: About 5 years. No prior error messages.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Not if it involves opening the machine
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I just replaced a washer in the connection pipe which was leaking. However the filling problem commenced before that.

E54: Motor relay contacts sticking

E54: Voltage in the motor circuit even when the motor should be inoperative

Either the PCB or the Motor has a problem

The display sometimes shows 'ELE', what does this mean?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are the problems with the PCB or motor likely to be expensive to fix compared to purchasing a new machine?
Expert:  George-Allsorts replied 1 year ago.

If it shows ELE then the heater element is defective... The element can cause erratic behavior of the PCB.

Ensure the power is off before doing this

Disconnect the power leads to the element and see what the appliance acts like..

Make sure the leads are insulated before continuing
