Customer Question

I have a Bosch Gas Cooktop, Model No. PBH615BTA.
The automatic sparking mechanism that lights the gas is continues to spark every second.
The only way to stop this is to turn off the electricity to the unit at the powerbox.
As soon as I turn the electricity back on the sparking recommences.
I would be glad if you could help me out.
Many thanks,
John Mondon

hello, did you have a spillover or get any moisture into the switch/knob area? possibly from wiping or cleaning? thx randy
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes,A small amount of water got into the knob. Thanks
Expert:  Randy 43 replied 1 year ago.
underneath the knob is a spark switch ,if water gets into that switch it will conduct electricity and close the circuit to the spark module and keep the module energized , depending on the amount ? it needs to dry and then the sparking will stop if the switch is not damaged, unplug the cooktop and let it dry out for a day ,reapply power ,it should be ok ..just use the burners with a bbq liter and let it dry out
