Hi , my name is***** sorry to hear about your problem and I will do my best to assist you . I have 45 years of experience and am a master mechanic , working on all makes and models . You might be prompted for a phone call and I do NOT mind chatting by phone , but the cost is extra so if you want to talk by phone let me know and I can arrange it from my end. So - how can I help you today? and whom am I speaking with today? Also if you can type out your VIN I can pull up accurate information, thank you!
if your check engine light is on , its probably a clue to the overheating , so step one is to pull codes , have you been adding coolant to it? does it smoke out the back?Don
you probably have an issue with a speed sensor or wiring in the abs system , that would turn the other lights on , the overheating is more important
OK , let me look up some things
which problem do you want me to address then?
OK , these engines are known for leaking head gaskets , which could explain your leaking hose or the hose could have over heated your engine to the point of warping a head and causing a head gasket leak , so there are many different tests for head gasket leaks like this
or it could be a broken water pump ,( low failure rate) or your cooling fans are not operating properly. They should come on when engine temp reaches about 210f and at least one should come on when you turn the AC on. when a head gasket starts to leak , it will over pressurize your engine and usually cause other leaks , like the weakest hose or water pump seal , radiator or heater core , so its best to nip it in the bud before more damage can occur.
Thank you for using justanswer , and if you have follow up questions , just ask me
