Hi I have a 2001 gmc sierra 2500 hd ,6.6 diesel ,6 speed Alison,300000 klms on accelation more noticeable cold it breaking down from surging to a dead spot,it seems to be mostly around 3rd gear .on the highway it can change from 6th to 5th and back to 6th quickly ,gears seem more erratic than used to be.nothing comes up on message centre what makes me think transmission ,what else could it be can you help Cheers Russell

It's 16 / 17 years old serviced 2000 k ago new fuel filter etc the fuel is clean no sign of water etc

I found this recall..sounds like symptoms are what you are going through contact gm and give them your vin number and see if this is done yet or not ..............find attached
