You are using a small shop for servicing, and not a Great Wall dealer centre?

Nothings been altered. Its not a greatwall dealer. They mostly do Honda/Mazda. Have been happy with them. I can drive for a couple of hrs before fault light comes on & then loose power. Also happens straight away if I put a/c on. I am a courier so drive all day

If the light comes on, it is a current code, if the light goes off, it becomes a history code.

That's good you are happy with your current service provider, but I feel you need to see a Great Wall dealer tech.
