ITS A 2016 SPORTAGE Platinum - and the park brake wont engage at all - its a button type brake

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Sportage yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes, just pulling the button up Its not working at all

Its a new car 18,000 only - and today for some reason the park brake just stopped working

Usually models with a button controlled park brake use a park brake motor.If the motor has failed internally this will cause this fault here and the motor would need to be replaced.The first thing to check is to see if all fuses are good on all fuse panels.If all fuses are found to be o.k. then the park brake motor will need to be tested to see if it needs to be replaced at all.
