My XF Jag 2010...

My XF Jag 2010 model lost power while driving on highway on three occasions. Turned the engine off & restarted and went for awhile. Happened on 3 occasion. Last time message came to “Gearbox fault. Thereafter it has gone another 30 km without stalling. What can be the problem. Thanks

With the gear box fault message this sounds like a fault is being detected with the gear box itself.This can be a failing solenoid or sensor in it causing this fault needing replaced.

This can cause a fail safe or limp mode causing no power or lack of power.

What has to be done from here is to have the fault codes checked/read out with a compatible scan tool or computer plugged into your vehicles data port to see what codes are set.Once this is done any codes set then need diagnosed to then locate and repair this issue here.There should be at least one code set that will help to diagnose and repair this issue.A shop or dealer can read out and diagnose the codes for you if you do not have a scan tool to read the codes.But I suspect a faulty sensor or solenoid needing replaced.
