What vehicle do you have here?

Is there a locating key for the filter to align with the top housing?

How did you do up the retainer ring?

Gary

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
not that i can see by hand then with screwdriver on the notches ihoped that if i removed housing it would give a better chance to tighten David
Expert:  Gary replied 1 month ago.

Hi David,

I would take the whole assembly out now to see what's going on.

Possibly the o-ring has been pinched.

Have a closer look at the relationship of top to bottom on assembly.

I think it is only meant to go in one spot.

Did you mark the ring with a marking pen prior to disassembly?

Gary

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
no i did not mark !!!! but how to remove housing cannot find any fixings David
Expert:  Gary replied 1 month ago.

Is the bottom fixed and the top comes off, or the other way?

Finding a pic of 2010 hiace is a little difficult at the moment.

Sorry David,

I'm thinking about Hilux etc.

Where is your fuel filter, is it under the seat access panel with the engine or underneath on the chassis rail?

Gary

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Hi it is under passenger seat access panel next to battery no real access David
Expert:  Gary replied 1 month ago.

Hi David,

I'm sorry I can't give you any further advice except to go backwards in your previous steps to where you can see the o-rings.

I've seen other plastic housings crack when disassembled incorrectly.
