JA: How old is the battery? And have you tested it with a voltmeter?
Customer: connected jumper cables and now have no dash lights
JA: What is the model/year of your Subaru?
Customer: 2003 impreza gx
JA: Are you fixing your Impreza yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: just tried to augment battery with jumper cables

Sounds like you have connected your jump battery backwards and blown a main fuse.

Can you please check all the fuses in the engine bay?
