bought an unlicensed BA tray ute with oil light on and bell ringing. Put newoil pressure switch in. no change.Had mechanic do oil pressure test with gauge. Pressure is fine. Computer was reset and it shows no problem? Obviously an electrical problem somewhere. Is my only solution an auto sparky?
JA: How old is your oil pump? Has the check engine light come on?
Customer: Not sure of age as just got ute. Done 179k`s. Yes light flashing and bell ringing
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?
Customer: 2005 BA
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Trying to. Put new oil press switch in. Had mechanic check oil pressure with a guage and he reckons fine in that regard
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not really. Seems to be electrical fault

Hello! My name is Gary.
Welcome to JustAnswer.
I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with a reply shortly.

Hello there,

I would recommend a Ford technician before an auto electrician.

The Ford tech will access to all info that he would need to fix your issue.

Sounds like the sensor signal wire is shorted to ground.

Seen this on a few cars, fixed many.

My mechanic bypassed the wire you refer to and ran a wire directly to the oil sensor switch. Made no difference.
That was prior to me contacting you. So havent really got anywhere. Will have to get an auto elec to sort it. Ford tech
will cost far too much to come to my house.
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
already paid $53 for nothing. cant keep forking out. sorry!

Hopefully an auto electrician will sort it for you.

If not, a Ford technician should sort it.

Hopefully it is not a module issue.

Sorry for your woes with this.

Good luck.
