Greg, we have a 2005 diesel pajero manual: recently t a roo,
we have a 2005 diesel pajero manual: recently hit a roo, had bull bar replaced - no apparent damage to rest of vehicle. Immediately after accident, active stability control lamp, active stability control system lamp and check engine lamps all illuminate, cruise control is unable to be selected when these lamps are on. These lights usually illuminate when foot brake is used. Sometimes they'll go off when stationary if footbrake is depressed a few times. We've been told it may be the rear right hand wheel sensor faulty (by the local Mitsubishi dealership). I'm not convinced and think it may be a bad earth or bad +12 volt connection. I'm an electronic technician by trade ( not a car mechanic) and have had a bit of exposure sensors like these both optical and magnetic, and in my experience these sensors either work or they don't, not intermittently like this one does. The reason I'm suspecting a poor earth or +12v is that a spike from footbrake switch may not be supressed sufficiently for the on board computer to operate as intended. Please note, the dealership want to charge $650.00 alone for the sensor, and if it's not the problem I'll have to wear it. Have you experienced a similar problem to this? … read more
