VerifiedHi JA cust,im stew,a mechanic here in australia,the light coming on at the wrong time is (most likley)from someone reseting it late/early doing much the same as yourself(changing belt.not doing/knowing the reset,then the reset happening sometime later after being annoyed by the warning light).the dash just counts 100,000km from when it was last reset(not nessesarily from when the belt was actually done).you need to remove the speedo/instrument cluster assembly from the dash(a little fiddly but not rocket science)on the back of the cluster unit there is a spot marked timing(or timing belt)with a small phillip head screw with the option of two positions,just remove the screw from spot a and transfer it to spot b(or vice vers depending on how many times its already been done)now light will go out,will come back on 100,000km from this point,hope this sorts you out ,cheers stew
