I own a 1999 Volvo v40 wagon 1.8l non-turbo. My maintenance

Customer Question

I own a 1999 Volvo v40 wagon 1.8l non-turbo.
My maintenance light has come on and i get code P0304 coming up.
Before this code came up, i had Ignition coil 4(which sparks cil.4 & 2 i believe) failure come up and Catalytic converter damage come up + camshaft reset valve.
However i fixed this, changed the spark plugs and flushed the engine oil and cleaned the engine as best as i could, These codes seem to have cleared now.
The coils are old and the plastic shaft is starting to crack slightly, so they could use replacement. However, i have switched Coil cil. 4 to cil. 3 and vice versa and i still get a P0304 code come up, which means it is not the coil. The wiring harness looks pretty old and most of the harness plastic has cracked.
I should also mention, i only get misfires upon starting a cold engine, within 3 mins all misfire stops. And i noticed it is usually a day with high moisture content in the air. The engine also lacks power in the lower RPM ranges up until 2000. Any thoughts?

Swap over the injectors and clear codes and try again .,

Do a engine compression test one cold then again hot .

BUT had a issue just like yours and the problem was the coil wires

and coil boots .i would replace these first sound very much like your issue .

Try this then please get back to me with the reply box below .

Kind regards Greg.
