Customer Question

Gidday, I've got a 95 ef falcon wagon which also has a problem with the central locking.
It only seems to affect rear passenger doors. The drivers, front passenger and boot work fine.
the prob arose about a year ago when left rear passenger door started to lock slower than other doors then over a couple months stopped responding completely. same thing happened to right rear door a few months later. Now when you lock car with key from drivers, front passenger, boot there is no response from rear passenger doors, not even a whurr.
I've removed both actuators and put 12v into them and they work fine. the actual lock mechanisms look clean and operate ok. I swapped both actuators with new ones anyway and nothing happens, still seem to be getting 12v to both actuator plugs. cant find any obvious gap in wiring. sprayed a ton of wd40 everywhere, put a new bcm in. Any ideas?
cheers,
jack

Hi Jack,

I would replace the door harness (from the lock to the B pillar).

Check the pins for water entry corrosion.

Do u mean replace door harness on both rear doors or on the drivers door harness?
Expert:  Gary replied 9 months ago.

Hi Jack,

The rear door harnesses, one per side.

Try one first to see the difference.

Forgive my ignorance but is it the section from actuator to plug or the section from the plug through door into body and further?
Expert:  Gary replied 9 months ago.

Hi Jack,

It is generally the section from the door to the B pillar.
