Customer Question

fg falcon,, wont start.. systems comms fault... all i did is try to start to start with an old key that hadnt been used for over a year and the immobilsier has kicked in
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: no battery is fine 5 months old and we also used another battery to it with jumper leads... its like the old key has lost its code and triggered the immobiliser
JA: What year is your Falcon?
Customer: 2009
JA: Are you fixing your Falcon yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: tried to disconnect battery, no change.. then lock the car and re open it no good.. now im just leaving the ignition switch on
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hi there,

With your good key, can you turn the ignition on for 5 seconds, then off for 5, about 3 times.

Then see if it now starts.

Hi there,

If this didn't work, you will need to get the vehicle t o your local Ford dealer for further diagnosis.

System communication fault could be immobilizer or one other module that needs to talk to immobilzer at ignition on.

Hope this helps
