Customer Question

Hi Rob, I have a code PO2E1 on my 2009 Freelander 2, nobody in town wants to try and fix it
JA: Do you have a scan tool to read the codes?
Customer: Yes, I have a iCarsoft diagnostic meter
JA: Are you fixing your Freelander yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am not that good, just got the tool to find out the codes
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no thanks

Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. the plastic gears inside the electronic throttle LR12598 are worn. replace it. also while you're there clean out the egr valve and check the airintake for any leaks.

I have had the throttle unit LR12598 replaced. The fault codes have gone but I still have intermittent rough running and black smoke blowing out of the exhaust.

My car is fixed, it was a split air hose at the electronic throttle unit.
