JA: How many miles are on the car? Have you noticed any fluid leaks lately?
Customer: 135000. No leaks
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: HOLDEN ASTRA CDXI 2005
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: A friend will. I just need the parts
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Don't think so. The car still drives it's just easy to put in reverse accidentally when car is at a standstill

Hi there,

Is your car a manual or auto transmission?

I would not use second hand parts, and there are some special adjustment procedures.

I have replaced many shift mechanisms in both AH transmissions.

Hi there,

Do you need any further help?

I hope my advice has been of assistance to you.

Kind regards

It is a manual. Do I have to go to Holden for the parts? Is it a major job?
Expert:  Gary replied 11 months ago.

It is not a major job for a Holden Trained Tech.

The shift linkage wears out, and comes as a linkage kit.

Under $500 fitted, and the car will be SO much better to drive.

Hope this helps.
