Peugeot2.0 litre petrol locking system and alarm car won't

Customer Question

Hi Pearl,
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: Peugeot(###) ###-####2.0 litre petrol locking system and alarm car won't start. Olga
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: Unable to start
JA: What year is your Peugeot?
Customer: 2002
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Road assistance came to check and it was not battery, he though it might be the alarm system but I have a feeling that it might be the fuse at rear end of car as water seem to get trapped there.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: that is all

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are many things that will prevent the engine from starting, it will take some electrical testing to determine exactly what is going on. Possible causes include the starter itself, cables and connections, the transmission range sensor or clutch switch, the ignition switch, wiring, the engine controller or a key/security issue. If you haven't already it would be a good idea to check fuses.

If fuses are good, are you seeing a security light staying on or flashing?
