Car starts and runs perfect. As soon as the temperature

Customer Question

Car starts and runs perfect. As soon as the temperature gauge touches half, engine shuts down and will not restart until temp drops below quarter
JA: How many miles are on the car? Have you checked the coolant level?
Customer: 147,000. Coolant level good
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: 2006 Rexton RX 320
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Replaced Fuel relay. Replaced fuel filter. My problem is that the car is 300kms from the nearest SsangYong mechanic and they are not sure what's wrong
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: That's it. Starts great runs for 16 minutes, temp reaches half and she stops
