hi the cruise button on my steering wheel doesnt work. if i want to use cruise control, i have to hold the cruise button. as soon as i let it go, it doesn't work

Good day, it sounds to me like you are having a failure with the brake light switch. The switch is located right behind the brake pedal. When you need to disengage the cruise you tap the brakes. If the switch goes bad it will actually tell the cruise to disengage anytime you let go of the button. So I would go ahead and replace the switch.
