My daughter has a 2000 Holden Astra I went to change the oil filter and when I tried to undo the cap on the oil filter housing the whole housing turned it was then I thought I best leave it. But when I started the Eng it started to leak oil.
How do I reseal it do I need to take off the exhaust manifold?

Hi there,A very common problem.The filter housing has a seal and a single allen bolt holding it to the block.You don't need to remove anything else.Wedge a block of wood etc, to stop it turning further, then undo the filter cap.Been fitted dry or too tight previously.I would recommend you buy all the bits in one trip.Housing, bolt, rear seal, and oil filter.Hope this helps.Gary
