HI Glenn . I have an 06 holden astra ah 1800. I replace cyl head new gasket and so on . I set my camshaft inlet 3 oclock and ex camshaft 9 oclock and i mark crankshaft between 5 and 6 oclock. it hard to start.

Does it look like this:

Did you take the cam wheels off, and if so did you put not mix up the cam wheels?

I would recheck your timing marks.

Have you verified the timing marks are aligned, and have not skipped after your first attempt of not starting?

Are all the electrics reconnected correctly?

I replace the water pump, tensioner assembly and both idler bearings on EVERY timing belt I do on this engine.
