I have a 2004 terrecan that is running on 5 cylinders the timing belt has just been done and the A/T light is on the mechanic I spoke to thinks the timing belt could be 1 notch out

I am sorry that you have not been helped yet. I just came online and saw your question

While the timing belt being off one tooth can cause a misfire, it should not cause the transmission light to come on, so your mechanic needs to scan the system for transmission fault codes to see what they are. If he already has, please post the fault code numbers here for me.
