My 2005 3.0l diesel Holden rodeo has it's 'check 4wd' light

Customer Question

My 2005 3.0l diesel Holden rodeo has it's 'check 4wd' light on and won't engage 4wd. I have tried resetting the 4wd by holding down the 3 buttons on dash which does reset it but 'check 4wd' light comes back on as soon as you try to select 4wd. Same happens if you reset by bridging wires in 4wd module plug. Ei I'm thinking the problem is with either the 4wd module (under the drivers seat) or transfer case actuator (which I opened and looks pristine inside - no corrosion etc) or front diff actuator but how do I determine which part is faulty?

Hi there,

Could be the front actuator, but please check reverse light operation first.

Does the vehicle have a towbar?

The 4wd system won't work correctly if the reverse fuse is blown.
